People for the American Way offers the following opportunity to express your feelings regarding the Congress intention to pass legislation that will support Bush’s illegal eavesdropping on We the People. The plan is to make the legislation retroactive so that his illegal actions will not be illegal. The evil minds in this administration will stop at nothing to get their way and to take control of the populace. Speak up and urge your friends to write also.

The GOP controlled Congress appears ready to abandon any investigation into possible violations of law by the executive branch, with regard to the NSA’s warrantless eavesdropping on U.S. citizens. Worse, it is now planning to pass legislation that rubber stamps that eavesdropping!

For those of you who have had it with the goings on in Washington and don’t know what to do to help change matters, go to the following link to AfterDowningStreet.org. They have a number of concrete suggestions for those who wish to participate in movements to institute change. Tell your friends and act with your friends. You can make a difference.

Try this also. You don’t have to be a Democrat to take action. Polls indicate that as many as 75% of responsible Republicans have had enough of Bush.

There is much to read in this issue. All of our Participating Authors are very outspoken on issues that they are concerned with. Read them and become outspoken yourself. As the President seems to go deeper into the morass every time he opens his mouth, it is up to the people to put their collective feet in it. He now tells us that the war in Iraq will continue and will only be stopped by a future President. He blames the press for not conveying the ”good” news about Iraq, the good news apparently being such things as grocery stores are opening in some areas. However, when you read the report by Orville Schell [in Feature Articles-Baghdad, The Besieged Press], you will get an insight into what is going on in Iraq, the kind of news we get in this country and why. He makes clear why pronouncements by embedded newspeople, military brass in Washington and various troops scattered through Iraq just do not reflect the horrible conditions in Iraq. __________________________________________________

Reality Show is worth looking at. Every citizen can use some Reality. It may not be pleasant, but neither is the disintegration of our democracy .
