An Autobiography of Jack Dalton

I’ve been a ragin' radical ever since coming back from Vietnam in April of 1967.  I was in the Marine Corps and was stationed at a place called Marble Mountain.  It was located about 20 miles from DaNang.  Marble Mountain was also the main storage and transfer facility for Agent Orange in I Corps (I Corps extended from the DMZ to about 60 miles south of DaNang).  I was there from 26 Sept 1965 through 19 April 1967.  It was a very interesting 2-year period of time to say the least.

Back in those days I was a real "America, love it or leave it" type.  By mid-1967, I was screaming "America, change it or lose it."

What helped to create that drastic change?

After coming back from Vietnam, I was in the Long Beach Naval Hospital for a while.  There I was given a book to read.  That book (in conjunction with realizing that our government has an abundance of liars) forever changed my life.  The title of the book was " A Nation of Sheep."  It is out of print now, but if you can get a copy I strongly urge doing so; it’s well worth the read.

I’m about 80% homebound, so I have a lot of time for reading, study, and research.  Then I write.  I urge you to read, study, get informed, make an informed decision, get involved and above all TAKE ACTION!  An informed populace that is action oriented scares the hell out of our leaders.

Don't be left only with thoughts of what this country might have been, what it could have been, and what it could have accomplished.  Think deeply about what kind of country you want to live in for the next 25 to 40 years.  That is about how long it will take to undo the damage that is being done to it, to us as a people, if the insanity was to stop right now today.
