2005-03-09 Jack Dalton Depleted Uranium I realize this was first put up and out a month ago, but the issue is still before us so, in that context this is timeless. Please take part in contacting the people mentioned in this alert. Not only are tens of thousands of Iraqi people being destroyed by DU, but all, not some, but all of the people the U.S. has sent to Iraq are being contaminated to a very high degree. Those of us contaminated by Agent Orange in Vietnam have for decades listened to this government tell us all how AO was and is harmless while we watch our brothers and sisters die by the thousands. What DU is doing and going to do to those coming back from Iraq contaminated by DU is going to be worse, much worse, than what we have had to endure thru AO contamination. Take part in this, please. It really does appear that no matter how much things change they always seem to remain the same. Not knowing if or how many of you are familiar with the International Depleted Uranium Study Team, here is the link to their web site. I have found it to be one of the better web sites on and about DU. Please read and study, then get involved in any way you are able in helping to keep the information about DU before the people of this nation that are sleep-walking thru life. http://www.idust.net/ Thank you Jack From: Traprock Peace Center, Deerfield, MA 01342 (413) 773-7427 www.traprockpeace.org An urgent message on depleted uranium from Dr. Doug Rokke and Damacio Lopez. Dear Friends, February 1, 2005 We have a proposal for those individuals and organizations who wish to stop the use of depleted uranium in weapons, ensure that medical care is provided, and ensure that all environmental contamination is cleaned up. Please join us in a world-wide campaign in demanding that the Pentagon of the United States follow it's own directive requiring thorough environmental remediation and that medical care is provided to all individuals contaminated by depleted uranium and/or other low level radioactive materials. Let's encourage Dr. Kilpatrick to uphold these legal requirements. LT. General Ronald Peake, then Surgeon General of the U.S. Army, also appointed Colonel Robert Eng, Ph.D. email: Robert.Eng@amedd.army.mil, Fort Sam Houston, Texas) as his representative to ensure medical care is provided to all DU casualties when he issued his medical order dated April 29, 2004.
